There were several things from the movie that I found to be quite interesting and amusing. While the movie definitely seemed a little outdated, it provides valuable insight and lessons for today. It is certainly still true that increasing technological literacy can help people overcome difficult situations and find higher paying jobs as these new skills make them more marketable. It was a little disappointing that after all the hard work and training, the four people the movie focused on were unable to achieve their dreams. I think this demonstrates that while technological training is important to bridging the digital divide, it is not the only step in overcoming this barrier. I also found it interesting that the one student attended a school specializing in technology. I think it is great that some high schools offer advanced training in specialized areas. However, I wonder if these schools occasionally over-specialize and fail to give a well rounded education.
